Been there, done that (-;

Hey ChatGPT, reformulate the text
so that children can understand it
(and I don’t get in trouble with copyright lawyers):

Sometimes, we think that if we search really hard, we’ll eventually find what we’re looking for. We imagine that the search will be long and difficult, but that’s not always true. This way of thinking keeps us stuck and makes it harder for us to actually find what we’re looking for.

Our thoughts are really powerful and they can change how we see things. When we think of ourselves as “seekers” with a faraway goal, and believe that finding it will take a very long time, it creates a cycle that never ends. It’s like going in circles and not getting anywhere.

But why do we keep searching even when it feels like we’re not making progress? Well, sometimes we want to protect ourselves. We’re scared that if we stop searching, we might lose something important about ourselves.

We’re afraid that our true selves will disappear, or maybe we worry that our true selves don’t even exist. These thoughts can be really scary, and they make us feel panicky when someone challenges our idea of who we are. Deep down, we kind of know that what we think about ourselves might not be real.

So, our minds try really hard to come up with ways to prove that we are who we think we are. Searching becomes one of the ways we try to prove ourselves right and protect our idea of who we are.

But here’s the interesting part: If we actually want to let go of this idea of a separate self and be free, it can be really scary. It feels like a big, dangerous adventure.

    The body mind is wired for survival. At the DNA level, at the cellular level, this survival wiring (as well as the propagation subroutine) operates and serves a reasonable purpose.
    We are habituated to superimpose a psychological quality to this body mind mechanism. The biocomputer is perceived to be conscious and is attributed the quality of consciousness.
    We believe that it is the biocomputer which perceives. We believe that the death of the biocomputer means the end of awareness.
    And thus, we experience psychological threats which we confuse as threats to the survival of the species.
