The belly of the mind…

“The belly of the mind is always hungry.”
Thinking can be wonderful,
but it is not a place to live in.
How to lay down the thinking mind,
when then one I believe myself to be
is a mind-construct, afraid to dissolve?
Written and spoken words can be helpful
to bring us to the edge
of our personal understanding.
But mind can only process contrast,
and tends to be afraid of dissolving.
It is priceless to meet
like-hearted human beings – truth lovers.
To hear and feel beyond
the cleverness or hopelessness
of our own words;
to embrace with our heart
what mind cannot understand.
Amazing how we can spend decades/lifetimes
resisting what can set us free, here and now.
